- Bashir, 'Imad ul-Mulk
- (?-1387)Bashir, a personal slave of Firuz Shah Tughlaq (1351-1388) since his days as a prince, was appointed on the latter's accession to the office of 'ariz-i mamalik and also entitled 'Iamd ul-Mulk. At the same time, he was assigned the iqta' of Rapri. Being a favorite of the sultan, the central revenue of-fice did not obtain from him the center's share of revenues, which made him fabulously rich. Bashir left behind 13 kror (130 million) tankas, nearly equal to two years' income of the sultanate. Much of this wealth was accumulated by corrupt means. In his old age, Bashir transferred his duties as 'ariz-i mumalik to his son Ishaq and also freed his own 4,000 slaves, advancing to each one of them a hand-some amount to establish himself as a freeman.
